Posting an Ad

It is very simple to post an ad on Kidswap.

1. Be sure you have ad credits in your account. To request free ad credits, please email us with your user name.
2. In your Kidswap account choose "Post an Ad"
3. You will be prompted to choose an ad credit. Click on an available ad credit and continue.
4. You have now entered the Kidswap Ad Builder. Our ad builder is designed specifically for Kidswap, and makes selling your kid's stuff a breeze.
5. As you can see on your right (click to view image of Ad Builder) , there are many fields to fill out with regards to your ad.
   • Image upload - Images on Kidswap can be up to 2 mgs in size. You can use animated images, png, jpg, or gifs.
   • Title - Enter an appropriate title for your ad. Try to include some descriptive elements; ie: Toddler girl size 2 Gap Dress. Please note, once you activate your ad this title is locked and you cannot edit it.
   • Price - Enter the price you would like to sell your item for.
   • Condition - Is your item new with tags? Lightly used? Enter a descriptor of the condition of the item. Click here to visit the glossary of terms used in Kidswap ads.
   • Size - Enter a size for your item. This can be left blank if the item doesn't have a size.
   • Season - Winter, spring, summer, or fall? Which best applies to your item? You can also enter holiday descriptors such as "Christmas" or "Easter"
   • Manufacturer: Who created the item? Baby Gap? Little Tykes?
   • Tags : You can enter a few extra descriptive tags for your item. For example, "Baby, red, dress"
   • Description: The description area is where you can put the full description of your item. Please visit other ads for a good idea of descriptions.

   To complete your ad you must choose a category. Click on the category menu on your left.

   

   You can choose alternate images to upload at this time as well.

   The final step is setting the visibility of your ad to "Active". Once your ad is active, it will appear online.

Purchasing Ad Credits
• Standard ad credits are free on Kidswap. To request free ad credits, email customer support with your user name and we will credit your account.
• To purchase a deluxe or retail ad credit, enter your Kidswap account and click "Purchase Ads". You will be prompted to make a choice in ad credits. Retail ad credits allow for 2 photos and 3 categories. Deluxe ad credits allow for 5 photos and 5 categories.
• You can purchase ads in bulk on Kidswap. Here is a quick look at the bulk packages:



• Once you have made your ad choice, click on the continue button. At the current time we only accept Paypal as a payment choice. Click Paypal and continue. You will be directed to their secure page. Upon completed payment, your ads will be in your account.

What are dormant ad credits?

• The dormant ad credit is an ad that is sitting in your account ready to use. All ad credits expire after one year.

If you want to ensure that your ads do not go missing you can use this little Kidswap trick:

• Click on "Post an ad"
• Follow the steps to enter the ad builder
• Exit the ad builder without entering your ad information.
• Your ad will now appear in your "View/Edit Ads" area

Viewing/Editing Ads that are online

• You can edit your ads once they are online through your "View/Edit Ads" area. This is the area where you would change the description or any other information you would like. Please note that you cannot change the title of the ad itself once it appears in this area.
• To edit your ads, click on "View/Edit Ads" in your Kidswap account. You will be directed to a page where all of your current ads reside.

Have you sold the item? Click "Delete" and remove it from the site.

• Would you like to alter the item description to reflect that you have a pending sale or the item is sold? Click "Edit" and alter the description.
• To keep our ads current, please remove any outdated or sold ads.

What is a subscription?

The least expensive way to sell with deluxe ads on Kidswap is via subscription. We have offered this option in the past, and are currently working on integrating it with our ad purchasing area.

To purchase a subscription now and have it manually activated, please provide the following information:

• Your user name : This is the user ID that you choose when you registered.
• The type of subscription you wish to purchase
  • Yearly - $30 per year
  • 6 month term - $15

   

  I have a subscription but no ad credits in my account. How do I receive more credits?

  If you find yourself without ad credits, please contact customer support and simply ask to be restocked. We'll add more credits to your account as quickly as possible.
